Depending on your theme, we can seek out the best places that will not only suit your time frame but also enhance your images. For example if your getting married in the city like St Stephens Church which is in Charlotte street Brisbane city , and your reception is at the Marriott , we would suggest either along the river behind customs house or up near the botanical gardens beside the Stamford. The waterfront is a great backdrop for photography.
There are some fantastic areas in the gardens that can make it seem like your wedding was photographed in England, the beautiful big old fig trees, the yachts in the river, and the quaint old tiled roads that seem to go on forever. Thats just one example, I like to shoot alot of my weddings at the Powerhouse at New Farm just across the river is Brisbane best spot for wedding photography. Tennerife is its new name however everyone knows New Farm, any weekend you can go there and park .
With it’s modern like buildings , great parking, river, tree’s, old style rose gardens you really can’t go wrong. Located 25 minutes from the city is The university at St Lucia too is a great backdrop for photography. Sandstone column buildings, amazing landscapes and grassy areas. Fantastic for large bridal party shots, they have toilets and bathrooms there too which is important . Located on the west side of the city its around 25 minutes to travel . For a more modern style themed wedding there is the awesome GO MA which is the museum of Art near south-bank. It has a huge amount of creativity there, and only a few short minutes from the city.
Other places I would suggest definitely the streets of the Brisbane city itself its amazing to find little quirky areas in alley ways that look fantastic in your photos. Parking is always an issue in the city but I am sure with careful planning with your wedding photographer you should be able to work something out. Sometimes we do need to organize permission to photograph at certain locations. Southbank is incredible for weddings as well.
